Vietnam and South Korea cooperate in renewable energy

Sharing experience in the field of renewable energy and smart electrical grids is the main topic of the international conference "New Technologies on Power - Renewable energy, electrical grid and Energy Storage Systems", jointly organized by the Vietnam Association of Energy (VEA) and Korea ESS Industries Development Association (KEIDA) on March 14 in Hanoi.

According to Mr. Chang Ho Chiu - representative of KEIDA, Korea has achieved significant achievements in managing energy demand and promoting sustainable socio-economic development over the years. With good cooperation, Korea wishes to share its research in the field of renewable energy, smart electrical grids, electric vehicles as well as energy storage systems with Vietnam. This not only contributes to economic development, environmental protection but also creates jobs and develops Vietnam's energy industry.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dang Huy Cuong - Director of the Vietnam’s Department of Energy highly appreciated the cooperation from South Korea. The event is of great important especially at the time when Vietnam is stepping forward to develop sustainable energy in order to protect the environment and respond to the climate change.

On this occasion, South Korea's Wongwang Electric Company sponsored $5 million to VEA. VEA will assign the Vietnam Electricity to manage and develop renewable energy projects.
