4 important events for enterprises in Vietnam on the sidelines of the 2017 APEC Summit

At a press conference to introduce the activities of enterprises in Vietnam in 2017, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam (VCCI) stated that VCCI will hold 4 important events for the business community on the sidelines of the 2017 APEC Summit.

The 2017 APEC Summit

As mentioned in our previous publication, to be held in Da Nang from 8-10/11/2017, this is one of the most important events for the business community in APEC and Vietnam. It is expected that around 1000 business leaders from multinational corporations from APEC economies will attend to discuss about strengthening cooperation and promoting sustainable business development. Representatives of leading corporations and companies will also meet, exchange, share experiences and find opportunities for future investments and development.

1. The APEC Entrepreneur Forum

This event aims to stimulate entrepreneurship in APEC, promoting creativity, strengthening business ethics. This is also an opportunity for leading entrepreneurs in the region to share their experiences.

2. The APEC Business Advisory Council Conference (ABAC)

Representatives of the business community of 21 APEC economies will review and discuss annual reports to provide recommendations to the leaders of the APEC economies. The topics covered will include regional integration, trade liberalization, investments, facilitating SMEs to engage in global supply chains, accessing capital and new achievements in technology, promoting e-commerce across borders and digital connections.

3. The Vietnam Trade Promotion and Investment Forum

The forum will be held in order to provide an opportunity for international investors to explore Vietnam’s achievements and commitment to economic reforms as well as the supporting mechanisms and potential policies to attract foreign investment in Vietnam.

4. The Conference between leaders of APEC economies with ABAC members.

Leaders of 21 APEC economies will engage in a direct dialogues with 63 members of ABAC representing the regional business community on issues related to improving the investment environment, business growth, free trade and investment in the region.
